Thank you all for your kind words in response to yesterday’s post. You motivate me to press forward and make this blog work better for me and for you too! I really appreciate all the positive feedback and helpful suggestions. Sometimes it’s just nice to hear back from you and to know that I’m not screaming into the abyss.
I have lots of ideas, but what I really need is some help. So, if you live in the Atlanta area and are looking for a part-time internship, let me know. It will be a paid (barely) position with only about 10 hours a week, but I think it would be perfect for a student of fashion or graphic design. I’ll need someone to help test sewing patterns, scour the web for projects, and help with a couple of photography and graphic design jobs that I’ll be working on this spring and summer. And I’d especially like someone with quilting experience.
If you’re interested, please contact me for more details. Please don’t leave your information as a comment on this post, but rather contact me directly.
If I lived even remotely close to Atlanta I would so be begging you for that internship…but alas, I am stuck in the frozen hills of South Dakota. Best of luck!
If I were about 12 years younger and didn’t have all these crazy kids oh AND lived anywhere close to Atlanta I would be on your doorstep! What a great idea! I’m so excited to see what happens!
I loved your post, and Diane’s. Making the craft community financially viable and sustainable is why I never let crafty friends give me their patterns, etc for free–I want to see them succeed, and am happy to do my part to lend a little help! Best wishes on your assistant–I finally broke down & hired someone when I was working alone from home: best decision I ever made, and led to all kinds of surprising, growth-filled developments. Wishing the same happy days for you!
10 extra hours a week doesn’t sounds so bad, but in reality that would mean I would have to give up sleep or time with my family since I work a full time and a part time job, and either one wouldn’t go over well.
Too bad because I really would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to try out some sewing/quilting patterns for you…I even live in the right area!!
I am sure you will get someone wonderful, if you haven’t already, because Atlanta is full of some amazingly talented and crafty individuals!!
drats, i live in boston. sounds like the perfect hours for me too!
if there’s ever more work than your lucky intern can handle and you don’t mind emailing or sending projects, i’ve got professional photography and graphic design experience, do a lot of quilting and embroidery, and would kind of love to do some barely paid work for you!

whoops, sorry! had that turned on as my signature, did not mean to leave it here.
Hi, I meant to post yesterday but anyway, I see you’ve made a decision and I hope it brings you the peace you’re seeking. I can’t remember exactly how I found your blog, but it was about a year ago, and the project was your gnome felt scene, which I made for a friend’s daughter’s birthday. I’ve enjoyed your projects, that they look like something I could do, that your posts are not every day, so when I get to check in once a week or so I don’t feel totally behind. I also like your collections, the best of, etc. I hope you’re able to find a great intern and can grow your business as you like. Sorry for being a terrible blog-reader by never having posted before. Best of luck!
I’m glad you got good feedback. You deserve it.
oh, I wish I was in the area because I’d be applying!
I so enjoy your blog and especially love etsy Fridays!
Oh, I wish I lived in Atlanta! 10 hours a week and the proposed task list are right up my alley. Good luck in your quest, and thank you for all of the goodness to date.
Do you have contact information for my friend, Mary, that you recently met? I just know she would have a name for you. Send me an email if you want to get in touch with her.
