Quilt Market Wrap-Ups: Kathy Mack of Pink Chalk Fabrics has a nice trend report from market. I always feel like she has a good perspective on what’s happening in the industry. And of course, follow along with Kim and her gang of reporters over on True Up for tons of posts with photos. And check out this inspiring video made by Creative Bug. I particularly like what Kaffe Fassett says about beautiful fabrics having restorative powers. You can also see a peek of the Kokka booth with my Stamped fabric collection over at Made by Rae. All of my samples are traveling to Europe and unfortunately I didn’t get any photos before Market, but I’m making loads of stuff with this fabric and will show you more soon!

Monday, Monday.

I’m tying up loose ends this morning. I made this bag over the weekend, using the new Nani Iro brushed twill from Miss Matatabi. Soft and beautiful fabric! This fabric has a bit of shimmer to it on the pink flowers and the band lining brown fabric has super bright neon polka dots, which my camera refused to adequately capture here. I also used my scalloped gray fabric for the interior lining. I’m making some scarves and cowls with this fabric for the Indie Craft Experience, and may make a couple of these bags with a reversible option.

I talked to the Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild over the weekend and was excited to see so many quilting enthusiasts all together! I’m planning to head to QuiltCon in February and am really looking forward to it.

 

And this Wednesday begins a fun Wrap-Along for the new book, Ruby Star Wrapping by Melody Miller and Allison Tannery, organized by Amy (Sukie) of Sukie Don’t Ya Know. Indie Craft Experience

I’ve signed up to exhibit at the Indie Craft Experience in a couple of weeks and will be sharing a booth with my friend Laura of Felt Jar. We thought it would be fun, but we must have forgotten that doing a craft fair is tons of work. I’ll be selling pouches like the ones below, bags, scarves and a few kids’ items. Laura will have ornaments (as shown below), acorns, and her adorable little owls.
