It feels good to finally get back to some non-book related sewing. As further evidence that I am the most boring person in the world I just made a new version of the same bag that I have been using for three summers. See — first here and then here. But this time I mixed it up and added some embroidery. Ooh, I’m getting crazy now. The fabric is from Nani Iro’s Antique Label collection. You can find a similar bag tutorial here. I think I make mine a bit differently, but you can try it out and let me know.
Love the bag pattern AND the handles.
The texture of the embroidery is a great touch.

I may be even more boring than you! I made the same bag last spring, fall, and again this spring. So it’s the same thing…year round…different colors though! 🙂
Beautiful bag!
Oh I do love how you’ve outlined the printed flowers with your embroidery! It’s very elegant.
All three of your bags are gorgeous. Once you find a good thing why let it go?
happy sewing! 🙂
The embroidery really makes it. Great work!
For your next bag, can you work up something that would make a good library bag for me or the kids. Backpacks are fine, but a cute bag would make me smile.
I love this bag, oh for a little more time in the day to make myself one.
do you have a pattern for this bag…. i want to make one so bad but would like to know what size to cut
