If you sent us a holiday card, it’s likely to end up under our tree next year. Don’t worry, I didn’t cut up anyone’s family photographs. This is certainly not a new idea, but just a reminder to re-use. I cut our cards with a circular hole punch, added a small hole for ribbon and stored the tags to use next year.
mine usually get made into a bird!
thanks for the reminder. i meant to do this last year.
I started doing this last year!! It’s a great idea.
Thank you, it’s a great idea!
great idea!

have a wonderful new year
I started the same thing last year. I hate to throw out pretty cards.
Brilliant!
We made jigsaws and a memory game ours of ours. Always like to re-use and re-purpose rather than just recycle into the bin. http://nurturestore.co.uk/recycle-your-christmas-cards-make-a-jigsaw-and-a-memory-game
Love this idea! Totally stealing it!
I saved my cards this year just for this purpose. Now I just need to get a punch.
so very cute! too bad most of my friends send the photo Christmas cards. I’ll have to scrape some together though to make some of these cuties!
What!? where do such great ideas come from!? great tip! & so cute!
What a great idea. We tend to keep the special Christmas cards and recycle the rest … I must go out and buy the circular cutting tool!
oooo I like this idea!
Wonderful Idea!
Good idea! I also like to reuse cards by either taring off the front and adding it to a new blank card or cutting it to a needed size and attaching it to a dull plain gift bag using a hole puncher and fun brads.
I have created these for years but without the large circle punch. Just free cut them into rectangles, squares and triangles (to accommodate the card design) and add the small hole punch for the ribbon. I often create more than one from a single card. Do not forget to use the simple sentiments on the card interior.
What a good idea! Did you use a punch to make the circles? What size was it? I have some cards saved so I just need to find a punch.
What a smart idea! Totally going to do this!
This is such a great idea!! I posted it on my blog & it links back to you!
Wonderful idea! Glad I haven’t gotten rid of our cards yet.
Great idea! You can also use them for kids’ Christmas thank you postcards. Just draw a line down the middle and use 1/2 for the thank you part, and 1/2 for the address!
Please any ideas on where to get the large round hole punch?
Ah yes, THIS is why I save my Christmas cards. :>) I linked to this on my weekly roundup, the post is under my name. Thanks for the reminder!
