Meet Peabo.

This is what’s going on at our house this week. Meet Peabo the dog. All nine pounds of him. He’s a full-grown one-year-old terrier mix that we got from a rescue agency and I think it’s quite possible that he’s the sweetest dog in the world. I’ve never had small dogs and I was skeptical, but this little guy rarely barks and is as gentle as can be with the girls.

The girls wanted a small dog and I think they sold me on it when they started obsessing over Boo, the World’s Cutest Dog. My husband was reluctant, so he got to choose the name, cheekily choosing “Peabo” after the romantic balladeer Peabo Bryson. And now I’m thinking about my Magic Moments record compilation that I ordered from a TV commercial as a kid. It’s all coming full circle.

I may or may not have put this dog in a tote and taken him into Whole Foods the other day. I’m not telling. And as you can see, he’s about the same size as our cat and they are actually getting along well though he may like to “play” more than she does. Maybe you’ll see some doggie sewing projects here soon!

  7. Kudos to you for rescuing that adorable little pooch! I’m a big animal lover and always getting strays dumped out by our house ( live in country) It makes me sad to think people can be so cruel to these little man lovers. They can love you unconditionally , lick you face when you have had the worse day ever and make it all better in a second. And hey theres nothing wrong with carrying him around in a tote lol You house will be filled with laughter !!

  8. Adorable! And by all means publish dog sewing projects – hopefully adjustable for larger dogs too. Holiday collar covers might be a fun and simple project to do with the kids.
