Machine Appliqué Designs

I turned the squirrel into a machine appliqué design and was thinking of selling some of these designs on Etsy.  I’m just not sure what kind of demand there is for machine embroidery designs.  I just know that when I started my embroidery business I was not satisfied with what was on the market, so I started creating my own.  Now that I have Adobe Illustrator, this process is much simpler.

Anyway, here’s a photo of the squirrel with my all-time favorite Japanese fabric, My Folklore by Lecien, which just doesn’t seem to be available anywhere.  I bought some fat quarters of the series here.

  1. Hi! I think the squirrel is awesome!

Quick question though – what kind of embroidery machine do you have? I’ve recently become interested in embroidery and am not sure where to start haha! I’d love some advice!

  2. I’ll take one! I don’t design embroidery files but buy them for my embroidery machine work! I’ve been trying to entice my blog friends to buy sew outs from me on their choice of fabric to use in their embroideries. — Michele

  3. Machine embroidery designs are VERY popular! Especially once you have a reputation for super cute designs with an awesome stitch out, people will keep coming back for more! I LOVE the squirrel! And My Folklore is one of my favorite lines as well.

  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! Thought I commented on it yesterday?!? Im looking for a nice Owl template to use for this… got any idea where to fine one? LOVE the squirrle too!

  5. I hope you do sell them. Appliques on clothing is booming right now; it’s in all of the childrens boutiques. Do you sell under that same name on etsy? I’ll look you up.
