Quilt Blocks Projects

Just thought I’d share a couple of things I’ve made recently with my Quilt Blocks fabric. Above is a dress from Kwik Sew 3905. Oh, and The Fat Quarter Shop asked me to participate in their Designer Tidbits series, so you can read about my collection and my love of Ralph Furley. (I realize that this reference is lost on many of you, and just as well, really.)

And below is a fast little project I made with a Moleskine journal and a bit of a block that I ended up not using. Ten minutes. I love sewing on these cardboard journals. And you can even make your own, like I did a few years ago.

I like the block on the moleskine journal – what size needle did you use to get through the cover?

Do you have a tutorial/pattern for this dress??

It’s the Kwik Sew 3905 pattern.

Adorable dress! Maybe a strange question, but I’m wondering if you think it can be made without the sleeves? When my daughter was a toddler she had a dress that looked a lot like what I would imagine this would look like without the sleeves. I would love to make her a sleeveless version of it for an event that we have coming up, but am wondering if that will work…

I love the pattern for childs dress on your web page. I seen it on Pinerest would you mind sharing it with me, I would greatly appreciate it, I sew just about everyday I’m a quilter and sew dresses for granddaughters. I think of fabric as a painting it has allot of beauty. Thank you Mary

Hi, I have a question about the dress. I have made this pattern for my daughter but I had the pleats going the other way, so a pleat in the centre with the fabric tucked behind it, on top of the side pleats. Is there a reason you made the dress with the pleats going the opposite way? I like yours far better, when I make the dress again I’m going to do the pleats as you have. Oh, I love the fabric too!!
