Lately I’ve been experimenting with different media, starting without color. Now I design all of my fabric collections in black and white before adding color, which allows me to focus on line and form, before clouding everything with color. And sometimes it doesn’t need color at all. If you have followed my fabric designs for a while, you may have noticed that I like to keep things simple.
I went years only wanting to make and sew functional objects, but now I just want to explore techniques. At this point, I don’t want to write instructions or draft patterns, but I’m not sure where I’m going with this.

I love this! I’ve also been stretching into the new year – making more work that has nothing to do with my business and more about experimenting and feeling my way with some new techniques. I’m tempted to steal your idea of working just in black and white for a while. 🙂

I do a lot of Zen Tangle so I was so excited to see this black and white fabrics.
I am writing to ask if you ever have freebies .I am the bus chairman for our guild Washington State Quilters. We number around 300 . On our journey to a out of town quilt show or quilt shops ,we give a way door prizes we really work hard on getting donations for these.
