I haven’t gotten much sewing done lately, but I did manage to make a few skirts for my older daughter, one with this fantastic Liberty Tana Lawn print that I bought from B & J Fabrics when we were in New York last month. I must admit that I was a little awestruck by their huge Liberty selection.
And I re-covered my worn out mouse pad using this tutorial that I did a couple of years back. Worked perfectly! I ordered that Liberty print last year from Purl Soho.
You can find the pattern for the girls’ reversible Change Your Mind Skirt as shown below in 1, 2, 3 Sew. If you’re using a Tana Lawn print, just be sure to use some thin interfacing to make the fabric opaque.

I love that reversible skirt. I taught a children’s sewing class and they loved making it. It’s genius.
I love the reversible skirt as well. I am only making one back to school garment for my girls and it is that one. Love the book, full of great projects.
love the liberty tana lawn, but its so darn expensive. i dont really want to spend that much on fabric and then the time invested……….
B&J and Purl Soho both have great selections of Liberty. I love to go stare at them.
Nice
I LOVE liberty fabric. I’m in the UK and its fairly expensive over here, so i can imagine it does get costly on export. BUT.. it’s worth it. It sews beautifully and the quality of the prints can’t be bettered. Perfect for children’s wear when you can get away with half a metre!
I still have yet to do skirts for my girls. Someday…
