This is what’s going on at our house this week. Meet Peabo the dog. All nine pounds of him. He’s a full-grown one-year-old terrier mix that we got from a rescue agency and I think it’s quite possible that he’s the sweetest dog in the world. I’ve never had small dogs and I was skeptical, but this little guy rarely barks and is as gentle as can be with the girls.
The girls wanted a small dog and I think they sold me on it when they started obsessing over Boo, the World’s Cutest Dog. My husband was reluctant, so he got to choose the name, cheekily choosing “Peabo” after the romantic balladeer Peabo Bryson. And now I’m thinking about my Magic Moments record compilation that I ordered from a TV commercial as a kid. It’s all coming full circle.
I may or may not have put this dog in a tote and taken him into Whole Foods the other day. I’m not telling. And as you can see, he’s about the same size as our cat and they are actually getting along well though he may like to “play” more than she does. Maybe you’ll see some doggie sewing projects here soon!
Ooooooohhhhhhh he is SO adorable! We have a little Bichon…a loveable handful! Would love to see some doggy sewing projects to make for our doggy’s Christmas stocking! 🙂
Oh….cutest dog ever! If you decide not to keep him just email me. I’ll keep him 🙂 Like there would ever be a chance of that. You are all very lucky to have the best little boy ever.
He is too cute! And we have the same tile flooring!
Adorable! I am allergic to most animals, but was able to have a maltese (they don’t shed) as a child and have sense LOVED small dogs. They are clever little creatures!
He is a cutie pie!!
What a cutie! He looks like a lot of fun!
Hello, Mr. Adorable Pupperlupagus! How fun. 😀
What a darling. We always rescue; right now we have 2 cairn terriers.
Oh my gosh–what a sweet little fella! I love him.
He is so cute!
I can’t beleive something as cute as him was a rescue dog! Welcome to Blogland, Peabo, may we see your cuteness lots!
I have died. Of the cuteness. Congrats to your family and sweet Peabo.
Oh That Face!! I think my heart just melted a little! Thanks for sharing him with us 🙂

We have seen two other dogs that look like her before, but no one ever knows what they are exactly, Other than a terrier mix. We thought about getting the doggie DNA test done at PetCo one day just so we’d know. lol
Oh, he’s so cute!
He is sooooo sweet! Wish I could give him a hug and kiss that cute little nose!
What a cutie, I’m in love with him!
what a sweetie! i’m a rescue parent too. glad to hear another deserving pup found a new family. PLEASE share any and all doggy crafts you do because i for one would GLADLY try them all. i hope to someday figure out how to knit/crochet a nice doggy sweater for my chunky staffie named Sausage. xo
What a cutie, Ellen! We have 2 white Maltese, both very small, and love them dearly. Enjoy that new family member and don’t forget–I offer tutorials for several doggie items in my Etsy shop!
Kudos to you for rescuing that adorable little pooch! I’m a big animal lover and always getting strays dumped out by our house ( live in country) It makes me sad to think people can be so cruel to these little man lovers. They can love you unconditionally , lick you face when you have had the worse day ever and make it all better in a second. And hey theres nothing wrong with carrying him around in a tote lol You house will be filled with laughter !!
Adorable! And by all means publish dog sewing projects – hopefully adjustable for larger dogs too. Holiday collar covers might be a fun and simple project to do with the kids.
He’s a cutie! I’d love to see some sewing projects for dogs. I have two Westies and I’d love to make them something special.
Congrats on the doggie Ellen! He’s adorable!
Oh! how wonderful! I am a firm believer that a house is not a home without a dog. We have a large dog, but my girls pine for a small girl too. Maybe one day. Congratulations! I hope the training and adjustment goes well.
Love! Congratulations on you new addition!
Yay for dogs! (and cats, we have both). He’s a lucky guy to have found a sweet home!
Thank you for this post- you inspired my family and I to adopt a dog. It will be official on Monday!
He is a adorable! We have always had small dogs but got a one year old Chocolate Lab in October last year. Whooo Hooo, what a difference 60 pounds makes! We love our Lucy. She is part of the family now. Have fun.
