A quilt…one of these days.

I’ve been sorting through my fabric over the past few days and came across the box of old baby dresses and such that were mine. These were either stained or too worn for the girls to wear, so I’ve been planning to make them into a quilt. I thought I’d post some photos of what I found because I love them so. I’m hesitant to cut these up until I have some kind of fabulous plan for this quilt. I thought I did, but I changed my mind. Suggestions welcomed.

  1. Those are just lovely! It’s so difficult to decide on which quilt to make, I know! If you haven’t made a quilt before, I would recommend something that doesn’t have too many different shaped pieces. I saw your Kaffe Fasset fabric in your link- do you have any of his patchwork books? The patterns vary from very simple to very complicated. I have made several of the quilts and they turned out great.

  2. Wonderful things you used to wear as a child. I especially love the little embroidery with the girls at the table…

A quilt made of the clothes is a brilliant idea, but I do however understand why you hessitate a bit to cut it up!

  3. You could frame the embroidery pieces; they don’t have to have the same dimensions. You could use them as center pieces for the Log Cabin or Courthouse Steps Blocks
