Here’s a bit about how I view fair use of my designs, patterns, and images.
Fair Use of My Images: You are welcome to use any of my photos to share on your blog, Facebook page or Pinterest account. You do not need to ask permission, but I do appreciate proper attribution with a link, if possible. Thanks for sharing my work!
Fair Use of My Fabric Designs: I’m so glad that you like my fabric and are considering using it for your projects! I encourage the use of my fabric to make and sell items locally, at craft fairs and in Etsy shops. No permission required. You may take photos and post them on your blog, website, Facebook page, Pinterest, etc. without seeking my permission. You are welcome to use my fabrics in projects for books, magazines, other print or online publications and do not need to ask my permission to do so. I always appreciate attribution if possible, but it is not required.
Please do not copy my designs and use them in other formats; printed on paper goods, used for website backgrounds, on fabric, or on any goods for mass production. Feel free to contact me at thelongthread [at] gmail [dot] com with questions. I am more than happy to talk with you about my interpretation of licensing and fair use.
Fair Use of My Patterns: All original patterns posted here are for non-commercial use only. You may not sell items made from these original patterns unless you are using the instructions to make a basic item, such as a tote bag or zippered pouch. If you are selling items made from my patterns, I encourage you to make modifications to make the pattern your own. I love it when people link to my tutorials and patterns, but please do not re-print my tutorials or material in full on your site.
