December 2017: Happy New Year + Embroidery Pattern

Happy New Year! I’m full of hope that 2018 will bring positive change to the world. In a year filled with storms, both real and metaphorical, we all needed a break this holiday season. To improve my mental health in the upcoming year, I plan to turn anger into action through volunteer work, craftivism, and donations. I’ve created a Sierra Club fundraising page so that you can start the new year by supporting science and protecting the environment.

Here are my top nine Instagram photos from 2017 and, as you can see, six of these photos are protest-related. I also wrote, painted, and sewed this year and look forward to more creative endeavors in 2018.

Impeach Embroidery Pattern

I find it therapeutic to stab fabric repeatedly, and thought you might too. You can find the pattern for this embroidery project over on my blog, if you’re interested. Craftivism has an impact when you take your sewing in public and start conversations or post your work online to engage and motivate others.

You can also see my art prints on Society6 and order fabric from Spoonflower. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Sierra Club.
