Freezer paper allows you to make a quick and easy one-use stencil, and with this quick screenprint method, you can easily print crisp designs, even on textured fabrics. You’ll need a blank screen, screenprinting ink for fabric, squeegee, freezer paper, x-acto knife, and a self-healing cutting mat. First, be sure to wash, dry, and press your fabric before printing.
With an x-acto knife and self-healing mat, cut your design onto freezer paper.
With shiny side down, press the cut freezer paper design onto fabric.
Place the blank screen on top of your fabric and stencil. Add ink at the top and pull down with the squeegee at a 45-degree angle. Pull from top to bottom and back up as needed to cover all of the open spaces in the stencil. Carefully peel off the stencil and discard. Allow the fabric to dry for approximately 48 hours, press to set the ink, then run through the rinse and dry cycle before sewing.
