Fabric Wall Calendar

2017-calendar

Let’s say goodbye to 2016. I designed this fabric so you can make a quick and easy 2017 wall calendar. You can order the fabric from Spoonflower. I’ll have another calendar design posted soon. All you need is some small eyelets, eyelet tools, and thread to sew up the edges. Alternately, you could make a pocket at the top and hang the calendar with a dowel rod.

  1. Square the fabric. For this design, you’ll want the colors running off the edge, so cut the fabric about 1″ from where you want the finished design to be.
  2. Hem the sides by folding and pressing the fabric over by 1/2″, then 1/2″ again. Stitch along the fold with 3/8″ from the edge. Repeat for both vertical sides, then fold and stitch the top and bottom edges.
  3. Add eyelets to the top corners, following the instructions here.  If you’ve never installed these before, experiment on some scrap fabric first.
