Tutorial & Book Giveaway

And the blog tour rolls on! Today 1, 2, 3 Sew is being featured on two excellent blogs: Indie Fixx and Patterns by Figgy’s! A tutorial, pattern reviews and a book giveaway.

For Jen’s post over at Indie Fixx, I came up with a quick tutorial for the simple stamped tea towels shown above. This project is not featured in the book, but it is  a variation of the Fruit Tea Towels. Head over to Indie Fixx for the full how-to with additional photos.

And be sure to stop by Patterns by Figgy’s where Shelly has whipped up THREE projects from the book! They are also hosting a giveaway of  1, 2, 3 Sew, so enter to win a copy. And Shelly and Karen have a new book coming out soon! If you have any little boys in your life to sew for, then you should definitely add Sewing for Boys to your wish list.

Modern Kiddo

Today 1, 2, 3 Sew is headed over to Modern Kiddo where Dottie has whipped up the Change Your Mind Skirt from the book. It’s a reversible girl’s skirt with rickrack trim between the layers. It turned out so cute! Check it out and be sure to read more from Modern Kiddo to stay updated on all things vintage, crafty and fun for your modern kids.

Thanks Alix and Dottie for being part of the blog tour!

Blog Tour Update

Blog tour update! You can find 1, 2, 3 Sew on THREE sites right now! I’ll tell you about these great bloggers, but you are no doubt familiar with these talented folks already.

I’m thrilled that Rachel from Handmade Charlotte posted about the book on Babble, with my list of 10 things that inspire me. Rachel writes a beautiful blog where motherhood and design intersect, featuring interiors, handmade goods, and DIY projects.

Then the super-creative Megan wrote about the book on Not Martha. I’ve long been a fan of Megan’s blog where she features all kinds of awesome DIY from around the web as well as her own inspired projects.

And don’t miss the post from Kim from Everything Etsy and enter for a chance to win a copy of the book! Kim writes about — you guessed it, everything Etsy — from setting up a shop, to marketing, to conquering the world armed with handmade goods! It’s a great resource whether you are an aspiring entrepreneur, a seasoned professional, or if you just love to look at handmade things.

Thanks to all of these fabulous bloggers. It’s a big thrill for me to be featured on my favorite blogs and I’m so grateful to these talented bloggers for agreeing to be part of the blog tour!

1, 2, 3 Sew Blog Tour

This summer we’re going on the road with the 1, 2, 3 Sew blog tour! I feel like I should print some t-shirts and camp out in a parking lot somewhere. And there should definitely be a mosh pit.

Help Wanted

Thank you all for your kind words in response to yesterday’s post. You motivate me to press forward and make this blog work better for me and for you too! I really appreciate all the positive feedback and helpful suggestions. Sometimes it’s just nice to hear back from you and to know that I’m not screaming into the abyss.

I have lots of ideas, but what I really need is some help. So, if you live in the Atlanta area and are looking for a part-time internship, let me know. It will be a paid (barely) position with only about 10 hours a week, but I think it would be perfect for a student of fashion or graphic design. I’ll need someone to help test sewing patterns, scour the web for projects, and help with a couple of photography and graphic design jobs that I’ll be working on this spring and summer. And I’d especially like someone with quilting experience.

If you’re interested, please contact me for more details. Please don’t leave your information as a comment on this post, but rather contact me directly.
