VOTE.

Quilt Block made by a student of the Social Justice Sewing Academy.

Do you need a reminder to vote? Probably not.

It’s hard to believe that women gained the right to vote less than one hundred years ago, with the continued disenfranchisement of black women. There’s a long history of political activism in fiber art in the United States, during the American Revolution, the abolition of slavery, the women’s suffrage movement, 1960s feminism, and now a resurgence in the form of craftivism.

The right to vote is still challenged today, which only reminds us of its power.
