There’s something going on with me lately that makes me want to sew repetitive lines. May need psychoanalysis. Anyway, I made these pillows from washed silk. I had some silk remnants, washed them on cold and let them air dry, which gives the silk a wrinkled look. These pillows use pintucks to create a tailored, clean look. This is a very simple project, one that would work well for a beginning sewer. I backed my pillows with upholstery weight fabrics, which helps add some durability to the silk. These turned out beautifully. Very nice!
wow, these are really beautiful. i just made two pillow covers but i am intimidated by this whole pintuck thing!
Those are beautiful. Is that silk? That makes me want to buy the pin tuck foot for my machine.
They just add up so much.
Indeed, lovely. Silk intimidates me but i may have to give it a try!
Beautiful project !
I love the simple lines, they work so well with that washed silk.
Thank you for the instruction as well, I may want to give it a try !
These are gorgeous! I did a post on our site linking to your tutorial – hope that’s ok 🙂 Thanks for such a great tutorial.
these are beautiful! I have been meaning to recover my pillows…maybe I’ll give give this one a try.
I love the look of them. Very clean.
Wow, these are gorgeous! So perfect for my in-progress girly-glam living room redo. I love them! I’ll be linking as well.
I would love to try to make this! Thank you for the beautiful free pattern!

I just used your pattern (I’m posting about taffeta silk tomorrow and I needed a project I loved for it!) and found that a fat quarter for the front and backsides worked perfectly. There’s even some room in there for a bigger pillow form, 17″x17″ or so.
Thanks so much! Yours are gorgeous!
These are fabulous!!
I am looking for instruction on how to make a round pillow that is pintucked on the sides and pleated to the center and held with a button in the middle. My late aunt should me how to do this years ago and I have lost the pattern on how to do these. Can you help me find one.
Thanks
It was monday morning so I decided to take some inspiration from your beautiful make it monday series and whipped up a pintuck pillow to cover a pillow that no longer fit in the color scheme of our living room. Beautiful. In case anyone reading this is thinking pintucks look too hard, this is all straight lines and deceptively simple. I’ve seen this project a number of times and always loved it.
I would like to make this pintuck pillow on a 20×20 pillow form – can you help me with the amount of fabric needed for the pintucks for the front piece?
Thank you
Just finished making three of these pillows for my bed. I used an 18×18 pillow form and adjusted the pattern by 2″ to accommodate the bigger form. They turned out super cute! Thank you for the pdf and the inspiration to make these. I took me 45 to make one! Not to bad. Super easy and fun to make.
These are beautiful! Had to include them in my round-up of “tuck” sewing projects. Hope to make my own someday….
Cheers,
Lauren
