I’ve been thinking about why I can never complete a quilting project. I find that I get sick of the fabric patterns before I’m even done with the top! So here it is — my attempt at a solids quilt. I think I will use this taupe linen and give it lots of negative space. Although I love quilts with great pattern and color, living with them is another thing for me. Of course I’m already second guessing my color choices here. Seems sort of Charlie Brown seventies. Oh well, if I can just press on we’ll see how it looks.
Funny, I just started a quilt today to–and it is in columns. Mine is not solid colors, but I love solids. Reminds me of the colors in Amish quilts.
Good luck.
It does look Charlie brownish – It’ll be great!!!
Is it going to be one of those coin quilts? I love how it looks right now; I think solids give it a very modern look. Good luck with the rest of it and have fun! 🙂
Looks great so far!
keep on truckin! this is looking good…love those solids.
Looks wonderful! I love the clean look of quilts with negative space. Reminds me of the Single Girl pattern by Denise Schmidt, don’t know if you’ve seen that one. I love it.
Okay, who doesn’t love Charlie Brown anyway?! I’m loving the colors and can’t wait to see the final creation!
Keep going – it looks great! I’m the same way – always abandoning quilts half way (or less) through and re-purposing the scraps for something else. I’ve finally learned that sticking with smaller projects (baby quilts & throws) manages to keep my attention.
Give a show & tell when its done 🙂
I love the owls. I can’t wait to get the tutorial to give them a try. Thanks for sharing as always.
Keep it up quilting is all about the journey not the results.
It will great for a boy, good colors in my opinion…
Nice.
